Why isn't my cooker hood extracting?
The most common cause of weak cooker hood suction is grease-clogged filters. Metal filters can be washed in the dishwasher once a month; on models with carbon filters, the filter should be replaced every 3–6 months. If suction is weak even though the filters are clean, the duct may be narrowed, or there may be a fault in the motor capacitor or motor winding.
If the hob igniter won't light
A damp or dirty igniter (spark plug) and burner cap around the burners will prevent ignition. Clean them with a dry cloth. If the flame lights but goes out when you let go of the knob, the thermocouple (flame safety device) is faulty; for your safety, this part must be replaced by a technical service.
What to bear in mind when fitting a cooker hood and hob
The distance between the cooker hood and the hob should be about 65–75 cm for gas hobs and 55–65 cm for electric hobs. The duct should be as short as possible with as few bends as possible. A correctly installed cooker hood runs more quietly and extracts better.

How long does cooker hood installation take?
In a kitchen with an existing flue connection, a standard cooker hood installation takes about 1 hour. It takes longer if a new duct needs to be made.
How often should a cooker hood filter be cleaned?
Metal grease filters should be washed once a month; carbon filters should be replaced every 3–6 months depending on how heavily they are used.
A burner lights and then goes straight out. Is it dangerous?
This is usually a fault in the flame safety device (thermocouple). Stop using the hob, turn off the gas valve and call us.
