For the right service on air conditioners of different brands, the most important information is the unit's full model name and number. Even within the same brand, error codes, electronic control boards, sensors and fan motors can differ between models. Giving the service the model details from the outset means the fault can be assessed more accurately, the right part can be identified and unnecessary return visits can be avoided. When choosing a private service, you should always ask about things such as whether the price is given in advance, a written guarantee and information about parts.
Why is model information the first step?
Saying "a Beko air conditioner", "a Daikin air conditioner" or "a Samsung air conditioner" is not enough information for a service. Each brand has produced many series and models over the years, and these models differ in capacity, inverter or on/off technology, the type of refrigerant used and their electronics. For example, although Mitsubishi Electric and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries have similar names, they are different manufacturers and their parts are not interchangeable. Similarly, with brands such as Bosch and Siemens or Beko and Arçelik, there can be structural differences between models.
When the model is known from the start, the technician can assess the likely causes of the fault in advance, check whether the required part can be obtained and resolve more on the first visit.
Where is the model label?
You can usually find your air conditioner's model information in the following places:
- Indoor unit label: Usually on the side or underside of the unit; on some models it is visible inside when the front cover is opened.
- Outdoor unit label: Usually on the side or back. The outdoor unit's model number may differ from the indoor unit's, so it is useful to note both.
- User manual: The model and series details appear on the cover or the first few pages.
- Warranty certificate and invoice: The model name is shown along with the purchase date.
If the label is high up or hard to reach, do not overreach from a chair or ladder; do not lean over the balcony railing to see the outdoor unit label. Simply take a photo of the label you can reach and add it to your service request or send it via WhatsApp.
Useful information to give the service alongside the model details
- The unit's approximate age and warranty status
- When it was last serviced
- The symptom of the fault: not cooling, leaking water, noise, smell, not working at all and so on
- How long the problem has been going on, and whether it started after an event such as a power cut
- Where the outdoor unit is and how easy it is to reach (balcony, roof, high façade)
This information helps the technician arrive with the right equipment and likely parts.
Error codes vary by brand and model
Many air conditioners display a code on the indoor unit's screen or lights when they detect a problem. What these codes mean can vary by brand, and even between different series of the same brand. Using a code list for one model online on another model can lead to misinterpretation and unnecessary parts replacement.
If you see a code on the display, do the following:
- Note the code and, if there is one, the pattern in which the lights flash, or take a photo.
- Try to remember when the code appeared (on start-up, after running for a while, when heating or when cooling).
- Pass this information to the service together with the model label.
An error code is only a starting point. The same code can have different causes: what looks like a sensor fault may actually be a loose connector, moisture or a cable problem. A definite fault diagnosis is made by examining the unit on site with measurements and checks. Rather than repeatedly switching the unit off and on to try to reset it when you see a code, it is safer to leave it off for a short while and get advice from the service.
Parts compatibility: control board, sensor, fan motor and remote control
The parts most often replaced in air conditioners can be model-specific. Two parts that look similar from the outside may not work in place of each other because of their connection design or software.
- Electronic control board: Indoor and outdoor unit control boards differ by model, capacity and software.
- Sensors: Room and pipe temperature sensors can have different values and connector types.
- Fan motor: Speed, power, connections and mounting dimensions vary by model.
- Remote control: A remote control from the same brand may not be fully compatible with every model; some functions may not work.
So a good service verifies, using the model information, that the part it will replace is suitable for your unit, and explains to you which part has been fitted. It should also be borne in mind that parts for some older models can take time to obtain; in that case, a service telling you this from the outset makes it easier for you to decide whether to repair or replace. You are also entitled to ask to see the old part that was replaced.
The difference between an authorised service and a private service
An authorised service is one that works under an agreement with the brand itself. A private technical service, on the other hand, is a business that operates independently of the brands and services units of different brands. Evime Servis is an independent private technical service; we are not the authorised service for any brand.
If your unit's manufacturer's warranty is still valid, we recommend contacting the brand's authorised service first; work covered by the warranty is handled through the authorised service. For units whose warranty has expired, a private service can be chosen for maintenance, gas recharge, installation and fault repair. You can find the full list of brands we service on our brands page, and brand-specific information on brand pages such as Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric or Samsung. For LG, Vestel and other brands, you can also find the relevant information via the brands page.
Questions to ask when choosing a private service
Whatever the brand, you should get clear answers to these questions when choosing a private service:
- Is the price given in advance? You should know how much you will pay after the fault diagnosis and before work begins.
- Is a written guarantee given? A written guarantee on parts and labour is your protection if problems arise later.
- Which part will be fitted? What the replacement part is and why it is suitable for your unit should be explained.
- Is a service report issued? Having the work carried out recorded makes it easier to keep track of the maintenance history later.
At Evime Servis, faults are diagnosed on site, the price is given before work begins, an operating check is carried out after the repair, and a written guarantee is given on parts and labour. When the job is finished, the service report you sign on the phone is emailed to you as a PDF.
Once you have your air conditioner's brand and model details ready, you can submit a service request in Didim, Söke, Kuşadası and Aydın city centre (Efeler), or contact us by phone or WhatsApp on +90 256 503 48 80, along with a photo of the label.
Frequently asked questions
Can I call out a service if I cannot find my air conditioner's model number?
Yes. The technician will identify the model from the indoor and outdoor unit labels during the visit; however, giving the details in advance makes it easier to prepare parts.
Can I rely on error code lists online?
Because the meaning of codes varies by brand and model, a list for a different model can be misleading. It is better to note the code and pass it to the service together with the model information.
Can I have my air conditioner that is still under warranty seen by a private service?
For units still under warranty, we recommend contacting the brand's authorised service first. Once the warranty has expired, a private service can be chosen for maintenance and repair.
I have air conditioners of different brands at home. Can the same service look after all of them?
Because private technical services can work on more than one brand, maintenance of units from different brands can be planned in a single visit. When booking, simply give the brand and model details of each unit separately.
